1/1/07:  Happy New Year!

1/4/07:  Oh my heart breaks!  We are putting Andrea to sleep in her crib for the first time tonight.  She is in there now (10pm) with the monitor on so we can hear her.  I will be sleeping in the room in the spare bed until we settle into a schedule.

10:30pm:  She is up again.  Within seconds of the previous post, she started crying.  Mommy and Daddy went running.  Within moments of picking her up, she threw up all over me and the floor.  Not a great way to start her first night in the nursery.

1/5/07:  We made it through the night.  It took me many times of rocking her to sleep then putting her down before she finally stayed asleep, but once she did it was a good 4 hour stretch before feeding time.  Hopefully tonight will be a little easier, but at least Daddy will be able to help since it is the weekend.  Right now Andrea is playing on one of her mats talking to the animals. :)

1/8/07: Andrea is sleeping in her crib well.  She seems to be eating a little more often, every 3 hours again at night.  Not sure if it is coincidence or because of switching to the crib.

1/10/07:  Last night was awful.  Andrea had no desire to sleep, especially not in her crib.  It took many tries to get her down the first time.  Then, when she woke up to eat at 3, she stayed up until 5!  Ugh!

1/11/07: Andrea is chewing now, on Daddy's finger or her own thumb.

1/12/07:  She is turning into a drool machine.

1/15/07:  Andrea slept 7-8 hours straight last night.  What a girl!

1/18/07:  Andrea had her first babysitter today, Angelique.  Mommy now has someone to come help once or twice a week so Mommy can get some work done.  Angelique also cleans, hehe...

1/20/07:  G-Gma K spent time rocking and singing to Andrea today.

1/22/07:  3 months old!

1/24/07: I've been reading "Save Our Sleep" and have implemented a schedule with Andrea.  I'm so glad I decided to get this book, there is so much great info on babies' sleeping habits.

1/25/07:  Schedule is working pretty well so far.  Putting her to bed last night was awful though.  Took an hour of screaming and one throw up.  I'm not overly excited about sticking to a schedule.  It is great now and helping us establish good sleeping patterns.  I'd like to read up on flex-scheduling.  Time for a trip to the library.

1/26/07:  Last night only took about 20 minutes to get Andrea asleep.  Tonight was even shorter.  Good.  We went and had photos taken today.  Andrea was cute.  The pictures will be ready online in a week or two and I can post them.

    Here is one...

1/28/07:  Andrea is blowing raspberries now.

1/30/07:  She slept through the night last night!  I put her down at 8, gave her a "dreamfeed" at 11, checked on her a couple times during the night, and finally got her up at 8.

1/31/07:  Andrea is doing great.  I measured her today and she was 25 inches long and her head was 16 inches.  I should weigh her again soon.  I can't believe how much she is growing.  Her head control is wonderful.  She can hold her head up when lifted from laying on back now, but only when she wants to Laughing

2/2/07:  Weighed Andrea and she was about 15lb 9oz.  Of course my postal scale wasn't meant for a baby, but it gives us a good estimate.  Her height is around 25 inches and head is 16 inches.

2/3/07:  Andrea is no longer being swaddled.  She was escaping!  Yes, it is the green thing around her middle.  The Velcro used to keep it on nicely, legs and all.  But she got to long and could undo the bottom Velcro by stretching tall.  And she could squirm enough to get her arms out.  We are using a sleeper now and she is doing fine except that she scratches the mattress with her nails (kind of like a cat does when they are purring).  It is amazingly loud in the baby monitor and wakes me up.

2/7/07:  Everything is going well.  Andrea continues to sleep through the night.  She is getting worse with her naps though, can't seem to sleep longer than an hour.  I'm not sure if it is because she isn't getting enough sleep or getting too much.  Ugh!  It is getting easier to take her places though.  She is such a good little girl.  She really only cries when she is overtired.  She doesn't even really cry when she is hungry.  This morning at 5am she just lay in her crib talking to herself until I woke up and fed her.

2/10/07:  We went out to dinner with friends tonight (Caleb and Jaclyn) and it was so nice.  Wow!  Dave and I actually commented that we felt like we might have a life again!  :)  Andrea was fabulous.  She staid in her car seat most of the time, slept a little, looked around and generally was an angel.  What a fabulous little girl!  Oh, and she smiled and flirted with whoever was giving her attention.

2/11/07:  Andrea went to sleep tonight without any fuss.  She is doing so good!  Oh, and she rolled for the first time.  She rolled from her back to her stomach.  She tried to do it a second time later, but ran into a wall and couldn't finish the turn.  That didn't make her happy.  I'm so excited!  But watch out, this means I have to keep both eyes on her at all times.

2/14/07:  Happy Valentine's Day!  Andrea's Dr appt went well.  She is growing just fine.  She had 5 shots and it was awful, but it is over with.

2/16/07:  Andrea is still working on the rolling.  Sometimes she makes it over and other times that arm is just too much in the way.  She really likes being able to roll to her tummy and is willing to spend much more time there now.

2/18/07:  Andrea was dedicated at church today.  She was blessed and prayed over.  Mommy and Daddy are so happy for our little one.  God bless us, please.

2/21/07:  Andrea and I went to the zoo today.  She was able to see a beluga whale and a walrus.  Everything else was too far away or Andrea was sleeping.  It was a nice little adventure for both of us.

2/23/07: Andrea is finally taking a bottle without complaint.  I found a bottle that she likes.  Yeah!

2/26/07: Andrea's reaching/grabbing is still a little hit and miss.  She is doing great through.  She is a pro at the rolling.  In fact, it is hard to stop her from rolling back to tummy, then she gets upset because she is stuck on her tummy!  It is a never-ending battle with her rolling to her tummy, enjoying it for a minute, then crying out for help.  Crazy baby!

2/28/07:  Andrea grabbed her foot today.

3/5/07:  Andrea is doing well. Her hair is starting to lay down somewhat.  She had an awful screaming incident last night.  Just starting screaming about 2 hours into the night.  Dave doesn't think she was ever truly awake.

3/7/07:  Andrea is at the beginning stages of sitting.  It only lasts for a minute, but so neat.  Oh, and she is eating her toes! - for the first time today.

3/9/07: Andrea visited her 2-month-old cousin today, Sheldon.  She had a nice time and looks huge next to a baby half her age.

3/10/07: We have a jumper for her that hangs in doorway.  We tried it today and she isn't jumping yet, just kind of "hangs out".

3/11/07: Andrea played in her new exersaucer today.

3/15/07: Rolled front to back once!

3/19/07:  Going to the doctor today.  She has had an infection that I can't get rid of.

Doctor says infection is going away.  Shouldn't be a problem much longer.

3/19/07:  Andrea's first curtains went up today.  Very cute.

3/20/07:  Andrea has not decided to roll front to back again.

3/23/07: Andrea rolled front to back again.  Grandma Sharon is here visiting.

3/23/07:  Mommy turned 30 today!  Had had her first evening without Mommy and Daddy.  Grandma Sharon took care of here while Daddy took Mommy to Teatro Zinzanni for dinner in Seattle.

3/24/07:  We had cake and ice cream with Grandpa and Grandma Estep, Grandma Jan, Grandma Sharon and Great Grandma Dorothy.  Andrea got lots of attention and was a good little girl.

3/25/07:  Fed Andrea some rice cereal today.  Only gave her a teaspoon or two, but she did well.

3/26/07:  Andrea is sleeping well at night.  Mommy still feeds her at about 11pm, but she is sleeping through the night after that (most nights).

3/29/07:  Andrea's favorite thing is screaming.  Not an angry squealing, but a look at me and I can make noise type of squealing.

3/30/07:  Here is a picture of Andrea napping:

        Well, during naptime anyway!
