Pregnancy Journal
Dec 7 - I.U.D. removed, start trying for baby #2
June 19 - First positive test! I had tested the previous day with negative results so chose not to test this morning. Around noon, I was trying to make blueberry muffins and couldn't focus. Something felt "off" so I chose to test even though it was not first in the morning. Line was light at first but definitely there. I took 2 more tests to confirm.
June 20 - Father's Day. Confirmed with second set of tests and announce to Dave and Andrea. Woke up early and made breakfast. I put Andrea in the shirt I had bought months ago saying she was going to be a big sister. When she went up to get him for breakfast, I heard Dave call down the stairs "Andrea has an interesting shirt on". When he came down and asked if it was true, I just grinned and said Happy Father's Day.
June 21 - Pregnancy confirmed at group health lab.
June 22 - Mommy is doing well, symptoms are mild but there.
June 28 - Andrea says she is going to have a little sister and I'm going to have a little brother! he he
June 30 - So far, this baby does not like spicy food. Hoping that doesn't last. No real morning sickness yet, just intermittent repulsions and belly aches.
July 10 - Morning sickness comes and goes. It is definitely not bad yet, but I've been tired for sure.
July 26 - First appointment was today. It is too early to hear the heartbeat, but nice to be done with all the medical history and blood work.
Aug 17 - Some bleeding after intercourse. Midwife advises that since there is no cramping we should be fine.
Aug 21 - Some fresh bleeding in the evening after a busy day. Nerves are high, but again no cramping with it.
Aug 22 - More fresh blood and heavier. We go to the ER. Ultrasound shows no heartbeat and baby stopped growing at 8 weeks (currently 13 weeks). Sent home to miscarry.
Aug 26 - Miscarried at 5am. So thankful Andrea was asleep and Dave was here to help. He helped me save the tissue, I'm not sure I could have done it. It was traumatic, but it will be good to start healing.
